In this guide, we will see how to activate the statistics of a website.
What are web statistics?
Web statistics allow you to obtain information on your site's audience such as the percentage of visitors, the geographical location of your visitors, the terminal from which your visitors consult your site, the most visited pages, etc.
Enable web statistics
You need to start by going to your customer interface, the link to which can be found on our showcase site. Once there, click on Plesk > My Plesk (Manage my subscription) > menu Websites & Domains > Hosting settings.
Enable web statistics for my hosting
At the bottom of the page, you will find the option Web statistics.
You can choose between :
- None: Disable statistics.
- Webalizer: Use the Webalizer application to generate visit logs for your site. Go to the official website http://www.webalizer.org/ to learn how to read statistics with this module.
- AWStats: Use the AWStats application to generate visit logs for your site. Go to the official website https://awstats.sourceforge.io/ to learn how to read statistics with this module.
Initially, and by default, the None option is selected, which means that statistics are disabled.
Selecting Webalizer or AWStats does not allow you to see the statistics instantly. You have to wait 24 hours for the system to generate the visit logs.
If you check the option (Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password)If you are a member of the FTP system, you need to use your system FTP account access to go to the statistics interface. Follow this procedure to change your FTP connection settings if you are unsure.
If you uncheck the (Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password)The statistics interface will be open to all your visitors and referenced on search engines.
