Incoming domain transfer

In this guide, we will explain the steps to follow for the incoming domain transfer.

Mandatory checks

The following points should be checked before initiating an incoming transfer from a domain to us:

  1. The domain name has been registered with the current registrar for more than 60 days.
  2. The domain name has not undergone a transfer for more than 60 days.
  3. The domain name is in "OK" status with the current provider.
  4. The domain name is unlocked against the transfer (not required for some extensions like ".FR")
  5. The transfer code of the recovered domain name must be correct and not expired (it expires within 7 days according to the registrar).
  6. There are at least 15 days left before the expiration date of your domain name.
  7. The owner contact e-mail address associated with the domain is fully functional and accessible. If this is not the case, it is mandatory to ask the current provider to change it before starting the transfer.

Once the transfer is launched, it will not be possible to change the DNS servers of the domain name, until the procedure is finalized.

Once the transfer is started, it will not be possible to change the owner until the operation is completed.

The interface will first search for a few moments and then display the option to order the anonymous whois depending on the extension. The space also offers a form to fill in for the type of Registrant of the owner contact, whether it is an individual or an organization, but this too depends on the extension of the domain transferred to us.

Finally, the window asks to enter the code Auth CODE of the domain to be transferred. Click on SEND.

Add Auth code

A box will appear to confirm the order and pay the invoice. Click on BUY.

Pay the incoming transfer

The interface displays two notifications. One to indicate the number and details of the order.

Incoming transfer command

The other indicates the initiation of the incoming transfer.

Incoming transfer initiated

The naming convention for the chosen extension must be respected. In this case, the transfer will proceed without anomaly. The domain will be added to the list with the status Transfer on hold.

Incoming transfer in progress

Very important

Once the transfer is launched, you have to validate the transfer initiation email sent to the owner contact's email address.

After this step, a termination request is automatically sent to the current registrar asking him to validate the transfer.

The registrar can oppose and stop the operation within 5 to 8 days.

In case of a positive response, or if no response is received within this period, the delegation will be transferred. In the event of a negative response from the current registrar, the initial deadline will be extended to 22 days.

The subscriber can request the current registrar to validate the transfer to expedite the process.
