In this guide, we will see how to lighten a saturated email address.
Please check the following first:
- An email hosting package with us.
- At least one email address created.
- The correct password for the email address in question.
This guide is useful if you use an email program that keeps a copy of your emails on the server.
This guide is NOT for Exchange email.
Deletion by mail
First, log on to the webmail: http://webmail.YOURDOMAIN.TLD/ using your email address and password.
Once on it, click on the button Mail or Mail to display the inbox (do not select one of the three proposals that appear when you move the cursor over it).
You will see your mails (I know my inbox is totally empty, it contains five messages. It's just to show you how).
So select the messages you want to delete.
Click on the button Delete which will be displayed when you select the e-mails.
The messages will be crossed out: they are still there, and it is possible to restore them in case of error. We have not deleted anything yet.
At the bottom right you have the menu Other that will allow you to Empty the garbage can. The deletion will be definitive and it is no longer possible to go back.
Delete by page
In case your inbox is really too full, and since you only have 30 mails displayed per page, you can change this number.
Go to the settings icon and then Preferences and then Mail or mail.
Then follow the link Posting folder button.
Change the value of the field Messages per page when the box is displayed. (Basic display only). Put a maximum of 200 instead of 30.
Warning: as indicated, this option only runs in the basic mode. We will therefore disconnect and reconnect to go into this mode.
This is the basic mode. You must select it before accessing the address.
Your mailbox now displays 200 mails per page. So you can go faster to lighten the box and receive emails again.
Reminder on the shared platform:
- The size of the email addresses is 1 GB by default. To increase the size you have to make a request by ticket.
- For stability reasons, it is not possible to exceed 2 GB per address even if the shared that you have ordered provides you with more than 50 GB of storage space.
- To avoid these limitations, you can upgrade to a private server or to the Exchange platform.
