Plesk : Change my PHP INI settings

In this guide we will see how to change the parameters of the PHP INI file.

Note

This guide is dedicated only to our subscribers who have subscribed to the old shared hosting Plesk (SMART, DISCOUNT, PRO and SECURE offer).

Why edit php variables?

This is usually useful when you have installed wordpress and the page prevents you from uploading large files that you need. At this point, you should increase the value of the upload_max_filesize variable.

Warning: You will need to know the variable to be edited as well as its new value, either by asking your webmaster for help or by following a well explained tutorial. Do not ask the technical support what to change or what the maximum value can be, as this type of request is beyond the scope of the technical support.

Editing php variables

The first thing to do is to go to your client interface which you can find the link to on our showcase site. Once there, click on Plesk > My Plesk (Manage my subscription) > menu Websites & Domains.

change php ini settings from plesk

Click on PHP parameters.

If you see the following page, you do not have the rights to edit all variables. Open a ticket to ask technical support to allow your account to change the php ini.

Once this is done, the interface will look like the following:

specify parameters

Finally, edit the variable of your choice with the correct value and apply the change(s).
