Plesk: Using the File Manager

In this guide, we will see how to use the file manager that allows you to upload, delete and organize all the files on your website.

Note

This guide is dedicated only to our subscribers who have subscribed to the former Plesk shared hosting packages (SMART, DISCOUNT, PRO and SECURE).

You need to start by going to your customer interface, the link to which can be found on our showcase site. Once there, click on Plesk > My Plesk (Manage my subscription) > menu Websites & Domains > Files.

The web root of your site is the httpdocs. As a result, the set of files and folders on your website must be present under the httpdocs.

Here are some basic functions that can be performed in the file manager.

To create a new folder or file, click on the New. Then add the folder or file of your choice. Type its name, then click on OK.

If you need to delete a directory, select the box next to it, then click Delete

You can change the access rights to a folder. Just right click on the folder and/or file and click on Change rights. If you are not an expert, do not make this modification because the slightest bad manipulation can make your site inaccessible. The intervention of the technical support will be at this moment paid.

If you need to transfer a file on your local machine to the remote server, just click on the Send.

Select and then open the file in question.

Moving the file (not large) is done in a few seconds on your account.
