Note

This guide is dedicated only to our subscribers who have subscribed to the old shared hosting Plesk (SMART, DISCOUNT, PRO and SECURE offer).

What is an email alias?

An e-mail alias is a _virtual_ e-mail address that you cannot consult. Its task is to redirect messages to your main e-mail account, which has an interface that allows you to consult it.

For example, the address contact@VOTREDOMAIN can be your main email address and contcat@VOTREDOMAIN and contacts@VOTREDOMAIN can be aliases.
All messages sent to these two addresses will arrive on your main mailbox. So, even if the sender of an email makes a typing error, you will not lose the email he will send you.
Note that info@VOTREDOMAINE infos@VOTREDOMAINE commercial@VOTREDOMAINE etc.. can also be aliases of your main mailbox.
Basically, you can create an infinite number of aliases for a given email address.

Add an email alias

The first thing to do is to go to your client interface which you can find the link to on our showcase site. Once there, click on Plesk > My Plesk (Manage my subscription) > menu Mail > Email addresses > Click on the email address in question.

Click on the section Email aliasesand put as many addresses as you want.

The addition of aliases is taken into account, you can test the sending of mail to these first.
