Plesk : Create an email address

In this guide, we will see how to create an email address.

Note

This guide is dedicated only to our subscribers who have subscribed to the old shared hosting Plesk (SMART, DISCOUNT, PRO and SECURE offer).

The first thing to do is to go to your customer interface which you can find the link to on our showcase site. Once there, click on Plesk > My Plesk (Manage my subscription) > menu Mail > Email addresses > Create an email address.

Enter the name of the email address which must not contain any blank spaces or special or accented characters.

You can use the two buttons "Generate" and "Display" that the system helps you to set up a well secured password.

If the password is not of security level Fortthe creation will fail.

On the shared platform :

  • The size of the email addresses is 1GB by default. To increase the size, you have to make a request by ticket.
  • It is not possible, for stability reasons, to exceed 2GB per address even if the pack shared that you have ordered gives you a storage space that exceeds 50GB. The reason being that, the day when one of your mailboxes reaches saturation, you will have to go through the Webmail space to lighten it and delete the mails you don't need anymore.
  • As a result, you have to sort out the mails to be deleted, which will result in a big waste of time, given the latency that the server will take to display the mails.
  • The maximum number of outgoing mails cannot exceed 60 mails sent per hour per email address.
  • Mails redirected to external or internal addresses (Redirection mail) are counted in the sent mails.
  • The maximum number of outgoing mails cannot exceed 100 mails sent per hour on all the mail addresses created on your pack.
  • To avoid these limitations, you can upgrade to a private server or to the Exchange platform.

You can add a small description of the address, for example, a few characters of the password to avoid forgetting it because if you lose it, we can not recover it for you.

Therefore, try to save the password in a document at home so that you don't lose it.

Click on OK to create the address.
